Studio Guest: Sam Underwood

In addition to Thibault Autheman‘s live performance and interview on Friday’s show I’m also excited to welcome instrument maker, sound artist and musician Sam Underwood down to the for a quick chat and to play some noises. Regular listeners to the show will remember his doom-tuba outfit Ore. Sam is in town to take part in the Wire Salon at Cafe Oto on Thursday 7th at Cafe Oto.

Sam Underwood, aka MrUnderwood, is a musician, sound artist and instrument designer. With the sensibility of a hacker, his work is geared towards developing new ways of creating music, sounds and interfaces with instruments and technology. He is currently artist in residence at the iShed in Bristol and guest composer at the legendary EMS in Stockholm. His activities include MortonUnderwood, a musical instrument design company co-run with David Morton; ORE, a doom tuba duo; and the Sonic Graffiti project. Wire
